In the month of February 2014, as I was praying in my house, I kept doing other things whiles praying. Like looking at my phone and answering messages on my Whats App, posting comments on Facebook, playing a little with my two boys, and all the while praying and speaking in tongues. In my heart I was praying to God but my body is doing other things whiles my lips is praying. So I heard the Holy Spirit say to me and I quote: "you're getting distracted a lot and spending too much time on the computer. I need you to focus on me". So from that day on wards whenever I'm praying I try all my best to focus all my attention, mind, heart, soul and body on my conversation with the Lord.
I came to understand later after the Holy spirit explained to me how all this distractions affect the effectiveness of my prayers. He later lead me to a video on YouTube and the video was about an ex-satanist who revealed how the devil distract Christians or children of God when they are praying. Sometimes you're fired up praying then your cell phone rings,door bell rings, some police alarm sound too loud, a dog barking too loud, your children shouting and screaming. The Lord revealed to me that all these things are tactics the devil uses to break into the prayers once it is intensified. Think about all these distractions if you've ever experienced that. The Lord is speaking to your heart right now even as you read this message that be alert and know the tactics of the evil one. Beloved in Christ Jesus, The end of all flesh is near. Therefore every child of God must pray without ceasing and be watchful. It is about time saints of God makes prayer our daily food. We must eat prayers for breakfast, lunch and diner and snack in between. When you read all the four gospels in the New Testament, you can see that every time Jesus was done with His work for the day, which is doing miraculous signs and wonders and healing the sick, bible says He withdrew to a solitary place and pray. So if the Son of God was always praying at dawn before He begins His daily work activities, why can't every child of God who claims to follow Jesus, do the same as He did?
Beloved, we can never be Christ disciple without self discipline. We have to deny ourselves of this worldly pleasures and be discipline for Jesus. Most Christians get up in the morning and never say a single prayer because we're in a hurry to get to our jobs. But the book of Psalm 127: 1 - 2; Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat- for He grants sleep to those He loves.
Beloved if Jesus spares your life, then you live through the day. Because His word said, in Him we live and have our being. We therefore need to pray ceaselessly so that the mercies of God will come on us.
The hour that we live in today is very dangerous and we must be on our toes and pray every minute. Prayer is the master key. Jesus started His ministry with prayers and fasting and ended it on the cross with prayers.
If you don't know Jesus and today you want to surrender your life to Him, say this Salvation prayers: Dear Jesus, thank you for loving me, thank you for dying on the cross for me. Jesus, please forgive me for all the evil things I have done. I am sorry. Jesus, I want to be a child of God and follow you, please teach me to do what is right. Jesus I want you to be my Lord and savior, please come into my heart, and fill me with your Holy Spirit. Jesus, please protect me from the evil one and save me, so that I may go to heaven with you. I also pray that you would save my friends and family. I love you Jesus, I want to know you, and be close to you. In Jesus name I pray Amen.
